Hon. Fredrick Kimanga Emerges as a Strong Contender for Kitui West Seat Ahead of 2027 Elections

Hon. Fredrick Kimanga’s appearance at the Wiper Party National Delegates Conference (NDC) at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, has sparked political excitement and speculation over his anticipated bid for the Kitui West parliamentary seat in 2027.

Currently serving as the Kitui County Minister for Lands and Urban Development, Kimanga has earned praise for his hands-on leadership and transformative development agenda. Among his key achievements include a Ksh 6 million sanitation project aimed at improving waste management, an ambitious plan to grade 70 kilometers of roads per ward across Kitui County, and several water and environmental conservation initiatives.

Recent opinion polls show Kimanga commanding overwhelming support at 71.26%, far ahead of Dr. Vincent Munyoki at 19.42%, with incumbent MP Edith Nyenze trailing at 4.2%. Political analysts believe his strong development record and close ties with the grassroots have positioned him as a frontrunner in the race.

If elected, Kimanga is expected to leverage his experience to boost infrastructure, promote economic growth, and enhance community welfare in Kitui West — making him one of the most closely watched aspirants in Ukambani politics.
