Hon Charles Nyamai Faults Local Leadership Over Thwake Dam’s Jobs Discrimination



Ex Mp Nyamai blames Mwalika as Kitui Rural Politics Burst into flames Over Thwake Dam project

Kitui Rural Political contest between the incumbent Mp hon Mwalika and Former Mp Nyamai is stinking to high heaven few month to the general election.

Nyamai has blamed mp Boni Mwalika for failing to push the contractor to hire locals from kitui rural despite the project occupying huge chunk of land from kitui rural.

In his brief visit at the Kenya’ s biggest multi purpose mega dam occupying both Makueni and Kitui counties, Nyamai acknowledge notable progress of the project saying upon it’s completion it will play a vital role in Economic revolution.

However, Hon Nyamai learnt with dismay employment and business opportunities discrimination allegations by the Dam authorities to the area residents and Yatta by extension.

“It’s unfortunate such these incidences are still happening to the people of Kanyangi here even when the Dam occupies biggest part in Lower Yatta sub county” said Mr Nyamai.

Locals who spoke to our reporters, accused the area MP Hon Mwalika Mboni of neglect and failure to represent their interests to the authorities for consideration adding that majority of skilled and semi skilled workers come from Makueni.

” Nyamai used to come here and talk to the dam people to give us jobs but since he lost, we got into darkness, we pray that he will get back to power and help us get jobs” said Shadrach Kilonzi a local farmer.

He urged the local authorities and management of the project to ensure equity in job allocation, resource compensation and CSR awareness to the locals.
