HE Ngilu visits Nzeeu water banks, Chinese lorry impounded

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu on Thursday made impromptu visit to Kisasi area in Kitui Rural Sub county following concerns by locals that the Chinese works in the area had adverse effects on the areas’ agricultural activities evident by dried vegetables in the farms.

The affected area borders the Kitui-Kibwezi road that is under construction and has affected water levels of Nzeeu River that is a key water source in the area.

Farmers are counting loses after their crops dried up following the Chinese works.

The County Government has sought the intervention of the police and two water bowsers belonging to Sinohydro have been impounded for further action.
