Governors Ngilu, Oparanya, Nyong’o and Kibwana drum up support for BBI in Kitui

    Governors Wycliffe Oparanya {Kakamega}, Charity Ngilu {Kitui}, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana {Makueni} and Kisumu’s Prof.Onyang’ Nyong’o have called on Kenyans to support the Building Bridges Initiative saying it will positively transform the country.

    Speaking today at Kitui during the consecration and enthronement of Ven. Gedion Meneni Nzoka as the third Bishop of Kitui Diocese, the Governors called on the church to support the BBI saying it ushers the national discussion on the future of Kenya.

    “Most of us have fought for this country, including some church leaders this country has had. We must all support the fight to restore Kenya and fight the vices that bedevil us as a nation”. Said Governor Ngilu.Governor Ngilu lauded former church leaders among others Emeritus Arch-Bishops Gitari and Eliud Webukhala for their input during the clamor for change noting the church must participate in developing the country.

    In a speech read by Kisumu Governor Prof. Onyang Nyong’o, Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said he would support efforts to make green grams a key country’s export to help end the cycle of hunger and create wealth for the residents.

    On his part, Professor Nyong’o said the BBI will change the cause of time, address the challenges the country has faced since independence terming it the true path to democracy, love and unity for Kenya.
    He commended President Kenyatta and Former Premier Odinga for uniting for the sake of the country
    ‘This country was gravely divided, the Uhuru-Raila courage to face each other and agree for the sake of Kenyans is commendable”. He said.President Kenyatta’s speech delivered by Council of Governors Chair Wycliffe Oparanya anchored on the impact of the Big Four Agenda on Kenyans noting his administration will continue the journey of transformation.

    On his part, Governor Oparanya said the church is key in positively transforming the society and supporting the cause for change and betterment of all.

    Makueni Governor Prof. Kibwana called on the church to support the BBI saying it will heal the nation.
