Governor Ngilu Meets Religious leaders over Reopening Protocols

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu today met the National Church Council of Kenya (NCCK) Secretary General Canon Kinyanjui who visited Kitui ahead of church reopening this week.

In a meeting that attracted religious leadership of the county , Governor Ngilu said the county will support the places of worship to meet the required guidelines during the pandemic.

She said the County Interfaith Committee will help in sensitizing the faithfuls to observe the standards required to curb spread of the virus.

“In this critical period of resuming services, we must reach our people through the use of mass media, and offer support, closeness and solidarity to the faithful urging them to observe the safety guidelines”. She said.

NCCK Secretary General Canon Kinyajui called on worshippers to cooperate during the pandemic to curb transmissions in the country.

Ngilu meets religious leaders ahead of reopenings of places of worship.

The Interfaith Council on the National Response Committee chair Arcbishop Anthony Muheria recently emphasised the great need of compliance for all services that will keep at bay coronavirus.
