Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu today flagged off 10 new ambulances to support healthcare under the Universal Health Care plan.
The move aims at responding to quality health care services and emergencies across the eight sub counties in efforts to improve efficiency in emergency response.
The Governor said the ambulances will boost hospital to hospital referrals and help save lives by providing emergency services to the far flung areas of the county.
Today’s flagging off is one of the many measures by the County Government that have seen the health sector grow through efficient hospital equipment, the Universal healthcare cover, improved technology and increased health personnel.
The event was preceded by the Building Bridges Initiative public sensitization meeting at Kitui Stadium attended by Governor Charity Ngilu, Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, Machakos Deputy Governor Eng. Francis Maliti, Machakos Executive Committee Members among others.
