Don’t Betray Ruto Kabogo Cautions Uhuru

Former powerful Kiambu County Governor and philanthropic hero William Kabogo has joined a growing list of leaders from Mt Kenya who are advising President Kenyatta against abandoning on his promise to support Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.

‘William Kabogo Gitau is a Kenyan politician.

He was the first and former governor of Kiambu County and a member of The National Alliance, one of the allied parties that merged to form The Jubilee Party.

He won the governorship in the March 2013 general election.

Kabogo said were if it were not for Ruto, Uhuru could not have won the hotly contested 2013 and 2017 General Elections.

Indeed this handshake was to bring peace, why did they not involve Ruto and Kalonzo Musyoka? We would now be enjoying widespread peace, won’t we?

Kabogo questioned the motive behind the 2018 March handshake between the President and ODM leader Raila Odinga, saying if it was genuinely meant to bring peace, it would have involved other leaders.

The politician spoke in an interview with Emoo FM, a radio station broadcasting in Kalenjin language and a MediaMax franchise.

“I know where DP and the President started their political union. Uhuru and I drove to Ruto’s Karen home. We sat under a tree for three days negotiating a working relationship…Ruto helped Uhuru to win. Do you think we would have won without Ruto?” Kabogo posed.
