
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has asked leaders to prioritize development rather than focusing on political competition which bears no benefit for the electorate.Speaking at Sir Ali Yusuf Sports Club during consultative talks with Kitui residents who reside in Nairobi, Ngilu outlined the numerous life-changing projects she has implemented to better lives of the residentsshe has since assuming office in August 2017.
“The great strides we have made in production, skills development and wealth creation stand testimony of my commitment to fulfill my campaign promise,” noted the county chief.
Governor Ngilu added, “I challenge every elected leader and those seeking elective positions to always put people’s interests first in the spirit of servant leadership.
“The attendees unanimously pledged their support for county government projects and programmes initiated under her visionary stewardship.
They expressed enthusiasm in Governor Ngilu’s flagship projects including KICOTEC, KICOYDEC, Kitui Afya Bora medical cover, Kitui County Empowerment Fund, the leather and food industries and ballast crusher, among others.
She also urged the Kamba community to play their cards smartly regarding national politics noting that securing influential posts in the country’s top leadership was the only way to guarantee the region a fair share of the national cake.
