Ex Municipal workers Finally Meets Ngilu Over Dues

The former county council employee who worked under the defunct local council on Wednesday had a meeting with kitui county Governor Bi Madam Charity Ngilu.

The team led by their leaders have been looking for their retirement benefits payment having worked with the defunct local municipal council.

On her part the governor reassured the ex-officials that the government will factor in their payments in it’s subsequent appropriation.

Speaking on the same meeting kitui county government workers union chairman Mr Stephen kwanda revealed that over 300 Municipal workers worked with municipal and over 50 officers have since retired, and the ex-officials Ought to have been paid their dues by the former regime.

Kitheka thanked Governor of kitui for committing to have ex-officials get paid later this year, he also warned workers to refrain from engaging in negative politicking while in the office and urged them to support the government of the day.

“All workers working with the county government of kitui are not the Malombe’s People, they are obliged to support the government of the day by all standards, failure to which the UNION will not defend lazy workers instead the Union will hound such officials from the office, be it ministers, CO, directors or Ass directors, Kitheka added.

On county revenue collection, Mr Kitheka urged the business community, chamber of commerce and all other units in kitui to co-operate with revenue collectors in Uniform and report any criminal elements.

Kitheka challenge county government workers to love their work and make sure the government of the day implements it’s manifesto effectively and those who feel they belong to other quarters they better start packing, it will not be business as Ussual, the Union added.
