Equity Foundation, Covid -19 Emergecy Response fund donate 14300 PPEs to Kitui Referral hospital


On Wednesday,15th July 2020, Equity Group Foundation and the Covid-19 Emergency response Fund donated 14300 Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Kitui Referral Hospital as part of their efforts to support the Covid-19 outbreak in County levels.

Speaking during the event Mr. Reuben Mbindu the Executive Director of Equity Group Foundation said that their key initiative was to transform lives by supporting Frontline soldiers (Doctor’s and nurses) throughout the Country by equiping them with the necessary equipment to fight the pandemic without fear.

Mr. Mbindu further said that, they were also looking forward to providing jobs by supporting local manufacturing considering the many jobs lost since the outbreak of the pandemic.On her part.

Governor Charity Ngilu through her read speech by the Executive Committee Member in charge of Tourism Sports and Culture and also the acting CEC in charge of Environment and Natural resources Patrick Musau thanked the teams for their support to Kitui saying the Equipment would be of great help to the Health fraternity at the hospital.

The Governor further said her Administration is committed to training more health workers, sensitizing allied health workers on basic Covid- 19 guidelines and infection prevention and also increasing Covid -19 bed capacity to the recommended 300 in the County health facility among other initiatives.

The PPEs include, 5000 pieces of surgical masks,7500 pieces of gloves coveralls, gumboots among others.
