Imagine your best friend going through what you are going through, and they come to you for help and advice. Give them that advice, then take it upon yourself!
It is easier to be emotionally detached when we are focussed on somebody else than when we are self focussed, and to see a problem clearly and objectively, we must be detached emotionally. Emotional attachment to situations obscures our vision such that we cant see the trees for the forest!
To solve our problems, we must rise to a higher level of awareness above that which created the problem in the first place. Meditation helps us in creating the distance between the problem and us, think about it.
