EGO: A NATURAL DISASTER AND A NECESSARY EVIL
Look at the ego as a natural consequence of being born! It is all right for it to exist. If you are walking along the road and it suddenly starts raining, to whom do you complain? You may as well be grateful for being rained on!!
The ego is a necessary evil for the Spirit once it gets into a body. It is the dark soil into which the spirit buries itself in order to germinate, sprout, grow and eventually blossom.
The fate of the spirit in the body-mind complex is the same as that of the seed buried in the lonely dark bowels of the earth! We know that unless the seed disappears into the earth for some time, there is no hope for bloom and harvest in the future. And that’s the glory of the seed-to bloom and multiply and bless man and animals and birds of the air.
You, the spirit, have buried yourself into the dark womb of the body-mind complex for your germination, eventual blossoming and huge harvest. The dark moments of loneliness and suffering provide the necessary ingredients for your growth. Use them. They provide the contrast you need to remember who you are!
