Dr Wathe Meets Sub County Veterinary Officers


By Charles Muthoka.Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau on Tuesday held a meeting with the Sub-County Veterinary and Livestock Officers in the County, at Kitui Agriculture Training Center(ATC).

Dr Wathe, lauded Governor Charity Ngilu for
supporting the Cattle treatment program, because out of the 800 cases of infected cows which were reported in January, only a few died.

words which were echoed by the Chief Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development James Mbii.

The CECM for Agriculture, Water and Livestock Development Emanuel Kisangau affirmed that, so far a total of 120,410 cows have been vaccinated against Lumpy Skin Disease(LSD), in the on going exercise across the County.

The logistics and planning of the second phase of Artificial Insemination(AI) and Synchronization Program, was also at the center of today’s discussion.

Also present was the Deputy Director for Livestock Development Dr Josephat Maluki and Heads Veterinary and Livestock Breeding Dr Peter Kithuka and Dr Joseph Kamonzo, respectively.
