Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Nyamai on Thursday joined the Director for Housing, Patrick Mwangi, in officially handing over a contractor to commence the construction of a modern market in Mutomo town.
The project, part of the government’s nationwide initiative to modernize markets across the country, was awarded to Kirchberg Palace Construction Company Ltd under the leadership of contractor Mr. John Mbui.
Speaking during the event, Director Mwangi assured residents of the government’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure. He expressed confidence in the contractor and urged him to prioritize the use of locally available materials and engage the community in the project for greater economic benefit.
“This market will not only modernize Mutomo but also create opportunities for residents through jobs and improved business spaces,” Mwangi said.The event was graced by area Assistant County Commissioners (ACCs), chiefs, and residents, who hailed the development as a game changer for Mutomo’s local economy.
