Machakos Governor Dr Mutua incredible decision to work with Kamba kingpin and Wiper leader H.E Kalonzo Musyoka is wise political strategy President Uhuru Kenyatta adopted in the run up to the 2007 general election, the COUNTY DIARY has learnt.
The Governor Who is serving his second term has been at logerhead with former vice president HE Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
Dr Mutua’s change of tune and his decision to support his erstwhile political foe Muysoka was informed by the realisation that in the spirit of Building Bridges, the Maendeleo Chap Chap maestro will gain nothing if he continues his strident antagonsim towards the powerful Wiper leader in Ukambani.
“Mutua suprise change of strategy will now afford him an easy time as he entrenches himself in the region, as he’ll not be seen as antagonising his mentor Mr Musyoka. The Electorate is wary of people who are seen as betrayers, politicians who bite the hand that fed them are seen as dishonest and naysayers” offers Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo.
However, Governor Prof Kibwana has dismissed the dalliance between Mr Musyoka and Dr Mutua, saying it will be short-lived, saying Musyoka should retire from active politics.
In another unrelated event, firebrand Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi told Kibwana to either respect Kalonzo or go to hell through an amatuer video released on WhatsApp.
“Mulyungi is seemingly becoming the Wiper Strongman. He spares no one especially when it comes to defending Wiper party leader H.E Kalonzo Musyoka” said prolifiy Spokesman Patrick KIMANZI.
