Deputy President Hon. Prof. Kithure Kindiki has come out strongly in defense of Governors Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga) and Cecily Mbarire (Embu), praising them as exemplary leaders who have made the country proud through their success in public administration and politics.
In a strongly worded statement, the Deputy President lauded the two county chiefs for their resilience and leadership, saying they have “outpaced the naive, arrogant novices trying to bully them into submission.”
Prof. Kindiki warned against what he termed as “primitive, prideful and know-it-all political bigotry,” adding that such misadventures would soon collapse under their own weight.
He emphasized that Kenya’s democracy in the 21st century must be grounded in persuasion, mutual respect, and the exchange of policy ideas, rather than in ethnic chauvinism and divisive politics.
“Respect the people and their leaders,” Kindiki said, calling for tolerance and civility in national political discourse.
