Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday brokered a revenue deal following a stand off that threatened to throw the counties into a spin.
In the meeting attended by among others DP Rigathi Gachagua, CoG Chair Governor Waiguru, Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u and CRA chairperson Dr. Jane Kiringai, the three bodies have now reached a compromised deal.
the counties will now get sh. 385 billion in Equitable share, an amount that was outrightly opposed by the governors.
The compromised allocation will now be sent to the parliament for consideration.
