On Tuesday, 20th October, 2020 – Kitui County Commissioner John Ondego warned residents against disregarding the COVID-19 protocols.
The Commissioner observed that bars and entertainment joints, the attendants and owners have not been adhering to the laid down Ministry of Health directives hence posing a substantial risk of COVID-19 pandemic surge in Kitui
“This may lead into a second wave of corona infections which could be devastating” warned Ondego.
Speaking at the same venue, the Administrator warned students on vagaries of early pregnancies and cautioned that the government will arrest and prosecute defilers in the court of law.
During the event, a number of men and women were awarded honors and medals of recognition as Mashujaas of Kitui County – by the County Commissioner on behalf of the Head of State.
The National Mashujaa Day Celebrations were held at Kitui Stadium, the COUNTY DIARY Reports.
Among those in attendance were prolific deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau who praised Ngilu war on COVID-19.
Speaking on the same forum Dr Wathe Nzau revealed Kitui County Government through the leadership of H.E Governor Charity Ngilu, is set to help in fighting the spread of Covid-19 virus in schools, by giving 200,000 face masks, hand wash, sanitizers and fumigations without any cost.
The Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau Reading the Governor’s Ngilu speech on her behalf during the Mashujaa Day celebrations held at Kitui Stadium Said Kitui is safer hands of Charity Ngilu.
Dr Wathe, further requested Kitui farmers to prepare their land and do timely planting because weather experts have announced rains may start anytime and by doing so they will make Kitui to be a food secure County.
Also present were all Deputy County Commissioners in Kitui County, Civil servants and residents from Kitui Central Sub County.
