DG Wathe Launches Insurance Regulatory Authority Stakeholder Training

The main objective of Insurance in Kitui County should be ensuring that, the business people and households are able to access affordable Insurance services, which requires multi stakeholders approach in understanding the unique needs of the people and also ensuring that, the market avails appropriate products.

This was said by the Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau at KEFRI on Wednesday where he was the Chief guest during the opening ceremony of the two days workshop, organized by Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), in partnership with Kitui County Government.

Ms Anne Chelangat who is the head of Consumer Education in IRA and also the team leader said that, the objective of the training is to create a network of Insurance champions, who will be facilitators in the County to help the authority organize and roll out Insurance awareness programs.

The trainees were selected from the business community, religious leaders, Chiefs, teaching fraternity, Persons living with disability, Youth groups and Maendeleo ya Wanawake.
