On MONDAY, 19TH APRIL, 2021 – a Livestock farmer by the John Munyoki Ukulo, of Nzanzeni Village in Tseikuru Ward, Mwingi North Sub County expressed his untold joy in livestock farming.
Mr. Munyoki is among the beneficiaries of the Kitui County Artificial Insemination Program which was rolled out by Governor Ngilu a year ago, the County diary reports.
Speaking to This Media, Mr Munyoki said, “I have all reasons to thank our Kitui Governor H.E Charity Ngilu and her Deputy H.E Dr Wathe Nzau, for helping Kitui farmers to access a free Artificial Insemination Program, to improve the quality of local livestock breeds”
I have benefited from this Artificial Insemination and Synchronization program three times.
After my cow was served with AI in May 2019, it calved in February 2020 then another one was served in March 2020 and calved down in November 2020, giving me three beautiful hybrid calves which ultimately will improve the quality of my livestock breed, Mr Munyoki added.
