She met the Secretary General of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), Ivonne Higuero, while representing Kenya at the opening ceremony of #CITESCop19, in Panama.
CITES is an international agreement signed by 183 nations that seek to regulate and restrict the international trade of endangered wildlife.
Kenya is a signatory State to the CITES Convention and the Government has designated Kenya Wildlife Service, the CITES Management Authority and CITES Scientific Authority for purposes of implementation of policy.
