Covid-19: 13 Kitui Staff Test Positive As Ngilu Orders The Closure of The Main Office Block

Kitui Governor Hon Charity Ngilu on Friday August 21, 2020 ordered THE CLOSURE OF THE COUNTY’S MAIN ADMINISTRATION BLOCK after the thirteen staff tested positive of Covid19, the COUNTY DIARY Reports.

In a communique shared on the social Media, it reads, ” Following an upsurge of Corona cases in the country, as a cautionary measure, the County Government of Kitui tested all the officers at the Administration’s Block, The block hosts several offices. Some of the staff have tested positive for COVID-19.

The affected officers, who are all asymptomatic, have been informed and are receiving the necessary support from the County Government. We wish them all quick recovery.

Subsequently, a repeat test of all staff has been carried out today, Friday, August 21, 2020.

To break the cycle, all staff working at the affected block, have been directed to proceed on two weeks break with effect from August 21, 2020. The staff will report back to the office on September 7, 2020.

The other offices outside the affected block will continue with their normal operations but with strict compliance with the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 protocol.
