County Govt Mourns with Imuumba Village: Eng Kakundi (Min LIHUD) Visits Mr Kisangi’s Kin Who was Slain By Shifters
Today, the Kitui County Minister for LIHUD Hon Eng. Kakundi joined a security baraza hosted by the County Commander and the Kitui East MP in Imuumba village. The baraza sought to tighten security in Kitui East following a banditry attack that left Mr Kisangi dead and his wife hospitalized. The bandits are said to have ambushed the family in the wee hours of the morning. Their criminal trail leaves behind a frightened community with scores spending nights in the bushes.
Eng Kakundi, the office of the Kitui East MP and the Kitui County Security bosses officiated the setting up of a police camp to man the territory. The camp will have an OCS and several police officers whose main role will be to wade off bandits and stop camels from destroying the residents farms and land parcels.
“I urge you, the residents of Imuumba village, to support these police officers in terms of information regarding any suspicious persons. We will support the camp with water and other supplies to ensure that it serves the residents well”, said the Minister.
Later, he visited the home of the slain Mr. Kisangi to condole with the family. The Minister shared the County government’s commitment in supporting the family with all crucial elements in giving Mr Kisangi are befitting burial. The County government will also cater for the wife who is nursing injuries in Kitui County Level 4 hospital.
