The Council of Governors (CoG) and Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) have signed an MoU aimed at building a lasting cooperation to grow businesses in the Counties.
CoG chairman H.E Wycliffe Oparanya and KNCCI president Mr Richard Ngatia signed the MoU at CoG headquarters in Nairobi.
H.E Oparanya said KNCCI will play a key role in efforts by National and County Governments to reopening of the economy that has been hit hard by Covid-19 pandemic.
“National and County Governments have put in place economic recovery plans and KNCCI will be a key partner in helping ensure we achieve our goal of reviving the economy,” said the Kakamega governor.
The Chairman reiterated that he was indeed impressed that KNNCI was playing a leading role in combating Covid-19.
He added: “The new frontiers of cooperation is in the regional economic blocks that are creating bigger markets and economies of scale.”
Mr Ngatia pledged KNCCI’s continued support to county governments.
