COG Endorse Counties Shut down Over Cash Crisis


On Tuesday 8th September, 2020 – Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu joined other Governors in an extraordinary Council of Governors (CoG),meeting in Nairobi during which matters affecting County Governments operations were discussed.

The Council of Governors resolved to Shut down County Governments on 17th September 2020 in the event the stalemate that has affected cash disbursement to the counties persists.

The CoG also discussed the challenges faced by counties when procuring pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals from KEMSA and the ongoing reforms at the Ministry of Agriculture among other issues affecting counties.
