MWINGI– Police fired teargas into the air as chaos and mayhem threatened to disrupt an event presided over by Kitui Women Representive Hon. Irene Kasalu in Mwingi today.
The colorful event, attended by women groups was well underway when a section of boda boda men caused chaos over what they termed as ‘stingy allowances”, forcing the police to fire into the air.
Peace was however restored as the event, that was meant to hand over plastic tanks and motorbikes from NGAAF, went on smoothly, organizers said.
Regarding the BBI and Punguza Mizingo Campaigns, Kasalu said:
“We are very sure the BBI team captured the views of all Kenyans and we have no reason not to support it when it is made public,” said the popular Kitui Woman Representative.
