Help me here good people. My son is class five and he is writing a composition on ” My Home” for his homework. He sought my advice and I told him to write the truth that he knows about our home- where we live, our neighbourhood, the members of our family and how he sees them etc etc. My idea is although composition writing is a creative endeavour, at his level, it is easier to write about what he sees and knows before he can be able to spin creative stories.
His mom is against my idea saying that a composition “must not be a true story” but creative. Now my son is having a hard time “connecting the lies” he is trying to write!!
Any primary school teacher here? Do you expect a class five to write a “true” composition or something “creative”? And are there any other considerations other than correct grammar and sentence structure? Am getting confused.
