Bribery Claims: Senator to Lobby Funds for Unpaid 2016 Tenders

The political heat and pressure is slowly mounting on the Senator on unpaid 89 contracts nubbed by EACC in the former County Govt headed by former powerful Governor. This comes amid claims that he has failed to lobby funds from the exchequer to enable County Governement pay these controversial tenders from the former regime.

The 89 contracts in question were halted by EACC due to procurement irregularities. Our sources have revealed that contractors who did the 89 contracts are set to meet the Senator either today or early next week. The meeting is said to be top secret and murred by bribery and blackmail claims.

“I don’t intend to attend this meeting. Already mweshimiwa’s proxies have claimed we should pay 10% of each of the contract’s due amount before he lobby’s the controller of budget. We are confused and depressed by this move”, claims one of the former big fish who sought anonymity.

A leaked letter from the EACC to the county government showed that these investigations are alive. The EACC has further cautioned the County treasury against treating these unpaid tenders lightly.

“It is the duty of the Senator to lobby for additional funds in the County. These unpaid tenders are his first assignment: let him help these contractors by lobbying for their revoted funds, they have suffered for too long”, posted a social media commentator kyalo James of kisasi
