One of the fierce Makueni Governor critic and political analyst hon Jm Musoma has congratulated Makueni county for emerging as the best county without reported corruption cases.
I take this opportunity to congratulate our Makueni County leadership especially Governor Kivutha Kibwana and his Deputy Andelina mwau for making history as the first County Government since the start of devolution to get a clean audit report from the Auditor General, hon Musoma said
However, I wish to remind us that we only got it once after getting it wrong five times, maintaining this position is the next exam. We have so far been appropriated over Sh.23 bn by the National government and we can’t account for more than half of it according to the annual audit reports.
We know it was not easy to achieve this but don’t you think it is easier to engage the asset and recovery agency to trace what the locust has eaten?
It is good to have a loyal political following to shower you with praises, sometimes it motivates. Moreover, you need a vibrant civil society and opposing forces that are daring enough to face you and keep you on track lest you get drunk with power.
A little slumber and unquestionable charactors in your regime will plunder this county like wolves. A time like this you should thank God and share the hip of praise with the few young MCAs, Activists and Bloggers who have stood their grounds and kept you on toes for the last one year.
They have played the roles that made you who you are today although they might have made wrong approaches. Sometimes it is not easy to tell truth to power. This is the year you cried loudest, it is the year you tried to jail that’s and that’s why you are smiling.
You owe the world a story, tell the next devolution conference that your success was out of the discipline the gave you. Makueni cannot be governed by a person with an appetite for public resources, the youth will skin you alive. Congratulations Kibwana it was a rite of passage!!!
