On Wednesday 11th, November 2020 – Kitui minister in charge of tourism Mr Patrick Koki Musau led high level delegation to Kalundu echopark in Majengo Area Kitui town.
Kalundu Ecopark which is located 0.5km along Majengo-Ithookwe road is soon going to be the tourism attraction whisper of the town after getting a major boost from the County Government of Kitui.
The County Minister for Tourism, Sports and Culture who is also the Ag. County Minister for Environment and Natural Resources Hon Patrick Koki Musau met with a potential Investors who are interested in putting up a state of art recreation facility.
Accompanied by his officers Deputy Director of Tourism Mr.Hezron Mulatya and Assistant Director for Eco-Tourism M/s Margaret Katele,the County Minister took the Investors round the Ecopark and agreed on plans Governor Ngilu want implemented through the County Ministry of Tourism.
Kitui County Governor in partnership with Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) and the National Museum of Kenya will bring Snakes at Mutomo reptile Sanctuary for venom extraction while some other species of snakes, crocodiles, pan cake tortoises, Dick Dicks will be brought to Kalundu Ecopark inclunding different species of green monkeys.
There will also be floating restaurants, Motor boats, rowing canoes, artificial beach, children’s playgrounds, swings and wedding gardens in a serene environment.
This project is coming at opportune time after a successful Kitui Expo 2020 which attracted people from the entire Kitui County, Kenya and even globally whereby out of public demand, the Expo resulted unto this project.
This project will be a sigh of relief and joy to the Residents of Majengo in Kitui since the restaurants will be preparing, KuKu choma, Sea food and all Swahili Dishes & Delicacies. Prepare to join H.E Governor Ngilu during the launch within the shortest time possible, watch this space
