The Reverend Stephen Mwanzia has been consecrated as the bishop and the second Full Gospel Churches of Kenya (FGCK) Ukambani South District Overseer. Mwanzia, 61, succeeds Bishop Amos M. Mutinda.
The Saturday, March 26, 2022 ceremony that was held at the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Kitui Township Church, was presided over by the FGCK Eastern Region (Kitui, Machakos and Makueni Counties) Overseer Bishop Amos M. Mutinda where the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Deputy Secretary General, Dr. Amalex Ngenga was the chief guest at the event. The event was attended by about 500 faithful.
Ngenga, who conducted the sermon at the ceremony, said that the God qualifies the people whom He calls. “God will never frustrate anyone after He has called him or her,” he said. He also said that the God will always work with the willing people.
When you accept the God’s call, He will show you the way that you will use, the cleric added. “When God call you, He begins to work with you. It is God who works in you after you accept when He calls you,” Ngenga said.
And he further said the people may not know you until the day when you will allow God to work in you.
The prelate said that the God strengthens you when the Devil thinks that you are a weakling. “Give the Holy Spirit an opportunity to work in you,” he said. Bishop Stephen Mwanzia was born in Maamani Village in Mulango Location, Kitui District in 1961.
After his primary school education in 1972 to 1979, he joined the Mulango Youth Polytechnic in 1980 to 1981 where he studied carpentry skills. He joined the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Kitui Township Church in March 1982.

In his acceptance speech, Bishop Mwanzia highly thanked those who attended his consecration. “God bless you abundantly,” he said. “The leadership comes from God. And if you get the leadership which is not through God, you will not be able to manage it,” the cleric said.
