Big Win to Contractors As the Bill set to go Through the Senate

Contractors to be paid not less than 90 days if the bill goes through the Senate.

The National Assembly has passed the Amendments to the Public Procurement And Disposal Act through the Statute Law Miscellaneous Amendments Bill with further minor Amendments.

Upon approval of the same by the Senate and assent by the President, all suppliers and contractors will be paid within a maximum of 90 days, failure to which they will be issued with a promissory note which will be recognized by all financial institutions and form part of the national debt.

The bill sponsored by gatundu south member of parliament hon Moses Kuria seeks to address all the grievance, the delays in payment to contractors who have completed the work.

He further pleaded with the Senate to expeditiously pass this bill so that we save our people and inject liquidity to the economy
