Vibrant and vocal Mwingi West Member of Parliament Hon Charles Nguna has called for the country to respect the rule of law and the judgement made on Thursday evening on the Building Bridges Initiative by high court Judges.
The detailed and one of the most comprehensive and clear judgements delivered by Five bench judges is believed to be even better explained than the presidential petition of August 2017.
It was a water right and landmark ruling, Kenya is a sovereign country that respects the rule of law – Let us respect the rule of law and the judgement made today – Mp Charles Nguna told News Reports.
However, there is room for the BBI secretariat to address the issues of constitutionality in respect to delimitation of boundaries which has been cited by the judges, Mwingi Mp has said.
“Although the BBI proponents might be going to the highest court to challenge the High Court ruling -It will not be easy to poke holes into such a detailed judgment. Circumventing it to affect contrary interests will spell more trouble for the concerned parties”.
High court Justice Jairus Ngaah Said – The President has no power to initiate changes to the Constitution.
