The County Commissioner for Kitui Mr John Ondego has pleaded with the residents to avoid crossing swollen Rivers, following heavy rains that are being witnessed in several parts of kitui county.
Parents and guardians have been asked to take care of their children and avoid sending them to fetch water in unprotected dams and streams
Various Brooks have crossed their banks and travellers have been advised to avoid crossing swollen rivers.
Rains are a blessing to us, but it can be disastrous sometimes if people will not be careful, kitui county commissioner has said.
