Kitui county women representative Dr Irene kasalu has called upon kitui residents who will be traveling to different places to avoid any swollen rivers.

Kasalu was speaking when she attended the burial ceremony of four people who lost their lives when the car they were traveling with plugged into river in Matinyani, kitui West.

“It is unfortunate that we have lost great souls in our society kitui County, cases of people drowning in rivers especially during the rainy season are rampant, kindly ensure while crossing rivers to be more careful.

“I convey condolences to the families, area residents, and friends,” said Kitui county Mp Hon kasalu
She was speaking on Saturday at Kwa mukoma grounds matinyani ward, Kitui west during the joint ceremony of four people who perished at Kwa mutendia river.

The ceremony was attended by hundreds of locals, Kitui Governor Charity kaluki, senator kilo Wambua, area mca Hon Yaamu, kitui workers union chairman Mr kitheka, and other several leaders.
