The County Assembly of Nyamira has issued a notice of plans to impeach the Executive officer in charge of Public Service and Administration Johnstone Obike.
Mr Obike is being targeted for allegedly failing to provide important information and documents needed by the Assembly.
Speaker Moffat Teya directed that Mr Obike be served with a letter instructing him to show cause why he should not be kicked out of the seat following what he termed as constant failure to aid the Assembly execute its mandate of oversighting the Executive.
Esise Ward MCA Joseph Nyarang’o who is the Chairman of the Committee on Public service Management told the House that Mr Obike had refused to provide the House with crucial information that was required in the House in several occasions.
Yesterday the House was expecting Nyarang’o to table a statement that had been sought on the Floor of the House from the Public Service department regarding the number of employees in respective county departments but he didn’t have any information since the executive didn’t provide him with the required information.
