Kitui Senator Enock Wambua brought mourners to a dead silence when he furiously warned Ruto to respect Kalonzo Musyoka during the burial of Machakos Senator Boniface Kabaka.
Both the Deputy President and the former Vice President were present at the burial.
Wambua who was seemingly agitated by utterances directed to the Africa’s Special Envoy to Southern Sudan by Gatundu MP Moses did not mince words.
“Deputy President i respect you, if some body wants to approach Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Senior Counsel let him approach him with respect” said the tough speaking Wambua pointing his finger at Ruto.
“*Sending people like this fellows to insult us here is spoiling it all*”.
You are spoiling it absolutely Deputy President. Moses Kuria i expect that one day very soon you will personally apologize to this community and our leader” Wambua added in response to Kuria’s remarks.
“We know Kambas have always been disrespected and the time to disrespect our people is over” said the Senator who eulogized Kabaka as a King.
The former member of the fourth estate that cautioned that Kambas are not short of wisdom that such that outsiders lecture the community on leadership.
“I was with you yesterday honourable Kuria….for you to stand here and pretend you lecture us on leadership shame on you. You cannot do that my brother go to and do that to your people in Gatundu Kambas will deal with their affairs locally” Wambua dressed down Kuria infront of mourners.
He further reminded the Deputy President that the community has already settled for Kalonzo as a Presidential candidate for 2022. “We have a plan for 2022 and we prayed God that we will reach there.
I want to make it very very clear here that his community is not looking for any leadership my friend. We have our own leader we shall stand with Kalonzo Musyoka” Wambua added warning that Tanga Tanga insults will not be tolerated in the community.
Moses Kuria who was visibly drunk had declared Sonko the defacto Kamba leader but Sonko declined the title and said that he respects Kalonzo as the defacto community leader.
However Ruto distanced himself from Kuria and asked Kambas not to drag Kalonzo in cheap tribal politics coz he is a respected National leader who has once served as a Vice President.
Leaders allied to the DP were offended when they realised that Kalonzo had been tasked by State House to read President Kenyatta’s speech eulogizing Kabaka instead of Ruto. They considered it a breach of protocal.
