On Friday, 12 May 2023 -kitui Agriculture and Livestock CECM Dr. Stephen Kimwele Mbaya hosted a team from the Small-Scale Irrigation and Value Addition Project (SIVAP) led by the National Project Manager Eng. Jonah Kebeney.
The team paid a courtesy call at his office ahead of the official handover of the Kamelya-Andu micro-irrigation scheme in Kitui West Sub-County, Iiani Micro Irrigation scheme in Kitui West Sub-County and the Kwa Mumbe sub-surface dam in Mwingi West Sub-county.
SIVAP has been instrumental in the implementation of initiatives geared towards poverty reduction through enhanced food security and nutrition in Kitui.
The brief meeting discussed areas of collaboration on matters of development between SIVAP and the County administration under the governance of Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, who has echoed his readiness to cooperate with different development partners in his bid to transform the livelihoods of the Kitui people.
