A mwingi church elder turned witch was recently nabbed naked by residents while undertaking his witchcraft activities at his neighbor’s home at midnight.
Kyalo Kavali who is a church elder in a local Pentecostal church at Kyethani location in Mwingi West constituency, is said to be a trusted man who has been using his position in the church to swindle money from the church believers, claiming to protect them against witchcraft and other evils.
Many area residents who witnessed the incidence said that no one would have imagined that such a trusted church elder could be engaging in such evil activities, till he was caught red handed at his neighbor’s home yard while doing his witchcraft activities.
According to the area Chief David Kyumbo, reports of the cornered witch reached his office yesterday morning and upon rushing to the scene he found out that it was the church elder that is known to many in the area as a good man of God. Upon interrogation, the man confessed that he has been planting witchcraft in his believers’ homes and later he would then convince them that they have been bewitched, and fraudulently obtain money from them.
Mr. Kyumbo warned the residents against giving out money to preachers hoping to get supernatural protection as most of them have turned to be rogue
