Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Muvyuria on Tuesday inspected the ongoing construction of Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui Town in preparation for this year’s Mashujaa Day national celebrations.
The CS was accompanied by Lunga Lunga MP Hon. Mangale Chiforomodo, Kitui County CECM for Sports and Youth Development Madam Phoebe Mutemi, State House Event Director Hon. Boniface Musambi, and other senior government officials.
During the inspection, the CS expressed confidence that the facility will be ready in time for the historic national event, with the contractor expected to hand over the completed stadium within the next two weeks.
The Ithookwe Stadium project is set to not only host the Mashujaa Day fete but also boost sports and talent development across Kitui County and the larger Eastern region.
