Kenyans were left in awe on Monday as President William Ruto made a grand appearance in full Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) uniform during the 2025 KDF Day celebrations held at Moi Barracks in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
The Head of State, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, led the nation in honoring the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of Kenya’s servicemen and women who continue to safeguard the country’s peace and sovereignty both at home and in international missions.
In his address, President Ruto will pay glowing tribute to the fallen heroes and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to improving the welfare of all KDF personnel. He is expected to laud the military for its professionalism, discipline, and critical role in national development and regional stability.
The event will mark with military parades, aerial displays, and a wreath-laying ceremony, brought together top military officials, government leaders, and families of servicemen. The President’s symbolic gesture of wearing the KDF uniform was seen by many as a show of solidarity, respect, and unity with the country’s defence forces.
