Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya has launched a scathing attack on the opposition, claiming they are using Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as a tool to take down President William Ruto. Speaking in Kilifi, Kawaya alleged that the opposition knows Ruto can’t be beaten in 2027, so they’re trying to make Kalonzo their face of opposition.
Kawaya dismissed the recent Wiper NDC gathering at Uhuru Park as a mere show, saying it lacked national support and was just an ethnic mobilization effort. He contrasted this with President Ruto’s efforts to deliver development projects, such as roads, electricity, and water, in Ukambani and the Coast region.
“The opposition is engaged in empty politics, holding rallies while President Ruto is busy delivering real development,” Kawaya said. He emphasized that Ruto is uniting marginalized communities and giving Kamba leaders a seat at the national table, correcting historical injustices.
Will Kawaya’s comments spark a response from Kalonzo or the opposition, or will they choose to ignore the jabs? The political landscape in Kenya is heating up ahead of the 2027 elections.
