PS Jonathan Mueke Defends Government Projects in Kitui, Urges Kamba Nation to Embrace President Ruto’s Development Wave
Livestock Development Principal Secretary Hon. Jonathan Mueke has defended ongoing government projects in Kitui County, urging the Kamba community to embrace President William Ruto’s development wave sweeping across the nation.
Speaking on Wednesday morning during a live interview on Musyi FM, Mueke said President Ruto’s administration is committed to delivering tangible projects in Ukambani, regardless of political affiliations. He highlighted major developments such as the Ithookwe Stadium, Kitui Airstrip, Chuluni–Nzombe–Mwitika Road, and Ikutha–Mutha–Mutomo Road as proof of the government’s dedication to uplifting the region.
The PS emphasized that the President’s focus is on economic transformation, job creation, and infrastructure improvement, adding that Kitui stands to benefit greatly from these initiatives. He noted that the ongoing works in roads, sports, and air transport will enhance accessibility, boost trade, and attract investors to the county.
Mueke further urged local leaders to put aside political differences and support the national government’s efforts to empower citizens. “It is time we move away from divisive politics and focus on what truly matters—development, opportunities, and improving people’s lives,” he said.
He assured Kitui residents that more projects are in the pipeline, including those targeting agriculture and livestock sectors, which are the backbone of the region’s economy. According to him, the government plans to strengthen livestock value chains, improve water access, and support youth and women in agribusiness.
The PS concluded by encouraging the Kamba nation to seize the moment and fully participate in national development programs. “This is our time to rise with the rest of the country. President Ruto’s government has opened the door—it’s up to us to walk through and make Ukambani shine,” he said.

The PS called on local leaders and residents to support the President’s transformative agenda, saying it is time to focus on unity and progress rather than politics.
“President Ruto’s government is walking the talk. The people of Kitui are already witnessing real development, and more is on the way. Let’s join hands and make sure Ukambani doesn’t miss out on this wave of change,” Mueke said.
