Kitui County Woman Representative Hon. Irene Kasalu on Wednesday represented Wiper Patriotic Front Party Leader H.E. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka at the Requiem Mass of the late renowned playwright, educator, and cultural icon Mwalimu David Kakuta Mulwa.
Hon. Kasalu stood in on behalf of Kalonzo Musyoka, conveying his condolences and solidarity with the Mulwa family during the solemn service held in honour of the late thespian. Her presence underscored the Wiper Patriotic Front’s commitment to standing with communities in moments of grief and loss.

In a message delivered through Hon. Kasalu, Kalonzo paid glowing tribute to Mwalimu Mulwa, describing him as a towering intellectual, gifted teacher, and transformative artist whose influence shaped generations of students and practitioners in Kenya’s creative arts sector.
Kalonzo noted that Mulwa’s legacy, particularly through his role as the founding Director of the Creative and Performing Arts Centre at Kenyatta University, will continue to live on through the many artists, educators, and cultural ambassadors he mentored.
The Wiper leader extended his heartfelt condolences to Mama Janet Mulwa, the family, friends, and the wider artistic community, assuring them of his prayers and support during the difficult period.
Hon. Kasalu’s representation was widely viewed as a reflection of unity, loyalty, and the Wiper Patriotic Front’s enduring values of service, empathy, and respect for Kenya’s cultural heritage.
