Kitui West Member of Parliament Hon. Edith Nyenze has handed over the newly constructed Ndalani Bridge, a crucial link connecting Matinyani and Kithumula. The bridge, which residents long described as a dangerous death trap, has now been fully restored and made passable, marking a major milestone in local infrastructure improvement.

For years, the community struggled with the hazardous crossing, especially during rainy seasons when the area became impassable and risky for schoolchildren, traders, and farmers transporting produce. Local leaders noted that the situation often resulted in delays, accidents, and economic losses for families who rely on the route for daily activities.

Hon. Nyenze, who has been spearheading development projects across Kitui West, affirmed that the completion of the bridge reflects her commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructural challenges faced by residents. She emphasized that safe and reliable road connectivity is essential for stimulating economic growth and improving livelihoods.

Community members expressed immense gratitude to the MP, saying the new bridge has restored safety and convenience in the area. Many described the project as a true game-changer, praising Hon. Nyenze for her hands-on leadership and consistent delivery of impactful projects.

With the Ndalani Bridge now open and functioning, residents are hopeful that the improved accessibility between Matinyani and Kithumula will boost trade, enhance school access, and strengthen social interaction. The community hailed the MP with the phrase “measya mailekya Mama Edith”—a testament to her reputation as #MamaMpendakazi.
