On 21st January 2025- yatta Kwa Vonza Member of the Kitui County Assembly, Hon. Mark Nding’o, officially handed over completed twin market sheds at Kanyonyoo Market, marking a significant milestone in improving trading infrastructure within the ward.
The newly constructed sheds are aimed at enhancing working conditions for traders by providing a clean, secure, and organized space to conduct their businesses. The project is part of ongoing efforts to support small-scale traders and boost local economic activities in the fast-growing Kanyonyoo town.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Hon. Nding’o noted that the market sheds will not only protect traders from harsh weather conditions but also promote orderliness and hygiene within the market. He emphasized his commitment to investing in projects that directly uplift livelihoods and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots.
Traders at Kanyonyoo Market expressed their appreciation for the project, saying the new sheds will improve customer experience and increase business efficiency. Many noted that the improved infrastructure will attract more traders and customers to the market.
The completion of the twin market sheds underscores the Kitui County Government’s focus on strengthening market infrastructure and supporting local trade as a key driver of development across the county.
