1,563 Students Benefit from Kitui Central NG-CDF Bursaries in Kyangwithya West

At least 1,563 students from Kyangwithya West Ward have benefited from bursary allocations issued through the Kitui Central National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), courtesy of Hon. Makali Mulu, CBS, MP, during an event held at the Ithiani Chief’s Office.

Presiding over the issuance, Hon. Makali Mulu reiterated his firm commitment to ensuring that no learner is locked out of education due to financial constraints, noting that education remains the most powerful equalizer for families and communities.

The lawmaker emphasized that sustained investment in education is central to empowering households, reducing inequality, and securing the country’s future, adding that the NG-CDF bursary programme continues to be a lifeline for vulnerable learners across the constituency.

“Education is the foundation of development. When we support our children to stay in school, we are investing directly in the future of our nation,” Hon. Makali stated, urging beneficiaries to remain focused and disciplined in their studies.

Parents and guardians who attended the exercise welcomed the support, saying the bursaries will significantly ease the burden of school fees as learners prepare to resume for the new academic term amid prevailing economic challenges.

Teachers and local administrators also praised the initiative, noting that timely bursary disbursement helps improve school retention and completion rates, particularly for students from needy backgrounds.

The NG-CDF bursary programme in Kitui Central continues to play a critical role in promoting equitable access to education, reinforcing Hon. Makali Mulu’s long-standing record of prioritizing human capital development within the constituency.
