Leonard Muthende of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has been declared the MP-elect for Mbeere North following a closely contested by-election held on November 28, 2025. Muthende clinched victory after garnering 15,802 votes, securing a narrow lead over his closest competitor.

Newton Kariuki, popularly known as Karish, of the Democratic Party (DP), came in a close second with 15,308 votes. The tight margin between the two candidates underscores the intensity of the race, which drew significant interest from the local electorate and political observers.
