Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today delivered a powerful and insightful address at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Lower Kabete, where he engaged Cohort III of the Leadership Program for National Transformation.
The cohort comprises senior officials drawn from ministries, county governments, departments, and national agencies who are undergoing high-level training on steering Kenya’s development agenda.
Speaking during a session themed “Transformative Leadership: Delivering the Kitui Promise,” Dr. Malombe shared key lessons from Kitui County’s ongoing transformation journey. He highlighted the importance of visionary leadership, prudent resource management, and people-centered development as core drivers that have enabled Kitui to make significant strides across various sectors.
The governor emphasized Kitui’s strategic investments in water, health, agriculture, and infrastructure, noting that these areas continue to shape the county’s socio-economic progress. He pointed out that delivering the Kitui Promise has required deliberate planning, community engagement, and steadfast commitment to accountability and transparency.
Dr. Malombe encouraged the leaders undergoing training to embrace innovation, ethical governance, and effective service delivery, stressing that true transformation can only be achieved when leaders remain responsive to the needs of the people they serve.
He also underscored the importance of cross-government collaboration as a key ingredient in sustaining long-term development gains.The session was well received, with participants commending the governor for offering practical insights and real-life lessons applicable to both national and county leadership.
