MP Dr. Racheal Nyamai Visits Mutomo KMTC to Boost Programmes & Sustainability in Kitui South

Kitui South Member of Parliament, Dr. Racheal Nyamai, visited Mutomo Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) on Tuesday for a strategic meeting focused on expanding the institution’s programmes and enhancing its long-term sustainability. The visit underscored the MP’s commitment to supporting quality healthcare education and ensuring that residents have access to skilled medical professionals.

During the meeting, Dr. Nyamai was joined by key KMTC officials, including Ronald Wasike, the Academic Registrar of KMTC Kenya, Acting Principal Dr. Musango, and Deputy Principal Benard Nderitu. Together, they explored opportunities to introduce new courses and strengthen existing programmes to meet the growing healthcare needs of the county and beyond.

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the announcement of new courses in nursing and clinical medicine, set to commence in March 2026. These additions are expected to equip students with essential medical skills, enhancing the college’s capacity to train professionals ready to serve in hospitals and clinics across the region.

Dr. Nyamai expressed her gratitude to the KMTC team for their dedication and commitment to the institution’s growth. She emphasized that expanding educational opportunities in healthcare is critical for improving access to quality medical services in Kitui and supporting the county’s broader development goals.
